Developing a Practice of Healthful Eating: How Mindful Eating Can Help
Megrette Fletcher, M.Ed., RD, CDE, 2013-2015 TCME President
What is a mindful eating practice? If you have ever wondered how mindful eating works and what exactly it can do to help you discover healthier relationship with food, then join Megrette as she explores how to practice eating healthy - without restriction, deprivation and shame.
In the first part of this 90 minute program you will explore how creating a practice is different in so many ways than a goal. Learn what the barriers are to creating an effective practice and identify some simple ways to bring mindful eating into your life.
In the second 90 minute program, you will build on your learning by sharing in a mindful eating meal/snack. Together we try some simple techniques to understand ways to really enjoy food and eating. This program is specifically designed for individuals who are looking to bring mindful eating into their daily lives.
Presentation includes powerpoint, powerpoint slides, handouts and suggested readings from the TCME Professional Handouts and Food for Thought archive.
